I am so excited to welcome my online (VIP) students and my "brick and mortar" students to this one-of-a-kind 2020-2021 school year! Together, we are going to make this one the very best!! I look forward to getting to know ALL my sweet students this year. 

I have a love of teaching all subjects, especially reading and math. This year, I am excited to be diving back into the ELA classroom! I believe cultivating a love of reading is one of the most pertinent and beneficial breakthroughs we can make at this age. We will explore different genres, point of views, settings, and writing styles to expose each student to a wealth of literary choices to help build their reading enjoyment and fluency. All students need to have a parish library card so that they always have a large selection of entertaining books to keep these literary skills growing.

This fall begins my seventh year at Swartz Upper Elementary! This is my fourteenth year teaching in the classroom. I have previously taught many more years in private music schools and studios. It has always been my desire to work with young students to build confidence and self-esteem, whether those skills are literary, mathematical, or musical. Also, I love to sing, so don't be surprised when part of a lesson naturally makes me break out into song. Sometimes, I cant resist!
