Music Teacher/Choir Director
I have been the music teacher at Swartz Upper and Swartz Lower Elementary for 7 years! For six of those years, I have been the choir director for Gator Choir. This year, we started a second choir, so now we offer Beginning and Advanced Gator Choirs.
When I’m not at school, I love to spend time with my family and make music with the community choir that I founded two years ago, Young Voices of Northeast Louisiana (for ages 5th grade-12th grade).
Before coming to Swartz, I was a stay at home mom for my two kids for 6 years, during which time I taught private voice and piano lessons part time. I had previously taught general music for PreK-5th grade at A.L. Smith Elementary and Lakeshore Elementary, and middle school and high school choir at Sterlington Middle and High School. I have also led worship for various churches around Northeast Louisiana.
Being a teacher at Swartz is particularly special to me because I attended Swartz Elementary as a child(1989-96). I am so blessed to be a Swartz Gator for life!
I love my students! Please contact me if you have any musical needs!
